Very good food, at very good prices and very cheerful and friendly staff. My husband loved the atmosphere and the friendly chat with the locals. He had the steak pie, with homemade chips and peas. I had vegetable Lasagna with homemade chips and peas perhaps a little short on the vegetables but still of a very high standard with good flavour. The pie was crammed full with good quality steak which pleased my husband. In all a very good meal and excellent value for less than £18 and that included two mugs of coffee whilst we were waiting. An extra bonus was that Jones the Boats was just across the road from the Wellington and we could walk down to the canal with the dog. We met some interesting folk there, who were soon to be off on the boat, to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. I was almost tempted to join them but my husband wouldn`t come but then we had the dog. All in all we had a most enjoyable time and can certainly recommend the Duke of Wellington.
Staying locally and went for Sunday lunch. Friendly staff and even agreed to make my wife vegetarian lasagne which was much appreciated. Fantastic roast with super tender beef and beautifully cooked. Cosy atmosphere and seems popular with locals. Recommend booking as gets very busy.
Came to visit when with family had some lovely times . I know times have been difficult with covid etc, it's nice to see that the Duke is open, but I think that a bit, no, a lot more effort is needed .
Had a great meal here. The ham, egg and chips is definitely a must. Prices really reasonable, 4 mains, 3 puds and drinks for £42! Definitely going back! Great home cooked food!
