Food was good for the Bay area, though I still think Din Ding has the best XLB in the Bay (but they don't have rice cakes).But neither would stand up to LA or NY imho but maybe that's changed now that many of my favorites places have shut down due to retirement and/or covid.The fillings were a little bland but I prefer them to being sweet or too gingery. You can add flavor by dousing them with black vinegar, my favorite Chinese condiment.We had:C01 plain xlb juicy and piping hot. Must eat right away for best taste. Skins are on the thick side but still delicate, so be careful picking them up. 6 to an order.C14 potstickers also juicy and piping hot but skins are too thin for me (I like east coast style THICC dumpling skin but ym probably v's). Also 6 to an order.F09 Shanghai style rice cakes weirdly a rare dish in the Bay, and adds carrots which is a weird Bay area quirk, and omits shiitake, which is a weird California quirk.

This is my favorite dumpling place in the Bay Area, good quality and value, filling is good amount and firm with good flavor. I also love their tofu dishes: both mapo tofu and golden crispy tofu are great, we almost buy them every time sometimes just to pack it to go and eat later : We love their Shanghai pan fried buns too, have not tried their bentos (they have a very big menu!

Ordered delivery,Shanghai Pan Fried Soup Dumpling is very oily, the fillings have no texture, too salty.Mongolian beef: too salty, does not taste goodPork Chop Rice Combination Bento Box: Pork chop taste really good, the minced pork stew is very oily.
