Having visited Alpe d’Huez on many occasions, we were interested to try L’Edelweiss when we were given the night off by our tour Company. We were wise to book as the restaurant was extremely busy. I cannot understand why it would appear that every catered property has Wednesday as the staff night off making every restaurant busy on that night. We were a party of ten adults and, as such, had a fair spread of items on the menu. We were seated promptly and our drinks came quickly whilst we studied the menu. I shared a fondue with two others together with a plate of meats. It was absolutely delicious. Although at least two of us were hearty eaters, we were beaten by the amount. I checked with my fellow diners and from lamb dishes to tartiflet they were all equally delighted. The wine was good value and we made sure none was left! A range of puddings and coffee completed our meal. The staff were most attentive and just a wave of an empty bottle was all that was needed for a swift replacement. Giving the impression of a mountain chalet added to the atmosphere and a great evening was had by us all. As regulars to this resort, we rarely visit the same restaurant twice. We will be making an exception in 2021!
