El Choco - Tisch reservieren

Every year we come back to Ayamonte, and first port of call is Bar Choco. Normally eat in the restaurant , but recently have also had tapas and drinks at the bar. Always good food, huge measures of spirits, and friendly staff. Only concern is that after 6 years of the best gambas alajiolio anywhere, this time prawns were large, and though still excellent , were no longer world beating .

This restaurant is always on our list when we go to the apartment. It might be 6 months or even a year between visits, but the staff always remeber you and are very polite. The slow roasted lamb is good, and the fish dishes are never a let down. They do a nougat ice cream with brandy which is fantastic.

We expected far more from this traditional Spanish restaurant. We started with octopus ,clams and shrimps sharing between three people . All fine. Main course was a seafood paella. Very poor. Not much seafood and little taste.

If you are looking for a nice restaurant serving very good fresh fish, this is your place. It is worth to go back even only for the coquinas!! I would recommend it.

Right on the river at Ayamonte, very tradtional Spanish restaurant. Great ham Pata Negra , the best tapas, seafood.
