"Quite disapointed with food and service, especially service. Ordered a soup that had a very acidic taste, told the waiter and the answer was it is served everyday . Well... Would recommend Pasapán, though."

Was very disappointed in my experience at this restaurant. We are staying at the hotel. I walked in earlier to check it out it looked like a wonderful medieval atmosphere with coffered ceiling and interesting architectural features. We came back after an afternoon of exploring wonderful, lively Segovia . The room was very quiet with a couple of other tables filled. The waiter appointed us to a table. The lighting was terrible fluorescent lights did not do justice to the beautiful setting and there was no music either! OK but I reminded myself what about the food?! The menu was interpreted partly into English but not enough to be sure I had a few questions. The waiter did not know any English whatsoever and my high school Spanish was not up to snuff so we kind of winged it and ordered the standard suckling pig dinner that is their signature dish. It ended up having very little flavor. I had the bean soup for the first course and it was very good and hearty. My husband‘s first course salad was huge and very good. My son had the salmon and he said it was good but the asparagus was way over cooked the sauce tasted somewhat like a pesto and was good he said. Dessert was part of the set menu and was absolutely horrible and coming for me that is bad… I never met a dessert I didn’t like and I couldn’t eat it! The upshot is there are lots of more fun atmospheric places to dine in this fabulous town. Food was average , atmosphere poor due to lack of trying, price point ok I guess.

Having visited the Sephardic center earlier in the day, I thought it would be interesting to try some Sephardic food for dinner. I quite enjoyed the meal. The servers were very professional, and the flavors were quite distinctive. I did not order a menú, so I picked a Segovian/Castilian starter and a Sephardic main. The peppers stuffed with duck and a cherry sauce were quite good. I ordered three--could have probably been OK with just two if I'd wanted to go a bit lighter, but one would not be enough. For my main, I did the timbal of turkey in wine sauce. On the one hand, it was a bit drier than expected, but it was very flavorful, and the dryness ended up marrying nicely with the wine sauce.

The place came highly recommended but... The food is good, but the service is a shambles. We booked a table yesterday for the moment the place opened, knowing it would be busy, but our food took an hour to arrive. We had to ask repeatedly for bread, couldn't get a wine list for the wine by the glass. When our dishes did arrive, they were cold, and we couldn't get hold of a waiter to do anything about it. Maybe we got them on a bad day, but it was our only evening in the city, so were disappointed.

Excellent 3-course lunch menu with unusual and quite intricate starters. Ate in the restaurant part with the fabulous ceiling. High class food with bread and half a bottle of wine for €19. Excellent value. But beware, you’ll probably need a siesta afterwards!
