Such a fun and sweet place! It is a grocery store in the front and then BOOM a small piece of beautiful Mexico in the back with great authentic foods at reasonable prices. The food was on the spot! People were friendly and the options were many! I saw that they have a small stage area and saw signs of karaoke, but I didn't experience it, so I'm not sure. Give this place an attempt to support local restaurants. These people really care about the food and the quality they offer and give you tasteful plates that you do not find in chain restaurants. Try the Tortas!
The food is authentic and delicious. I ordered chicken mauls and they are big and tasty. The green tomatillo sauce has a great taste and is spicy but not too hot. We also have the Lambbarbacoa, and it was the best I ever had. The lamb was tender, juicy and had a nice taste.. We have lived in San Antonio for 25 years and El Manantial would give some of our favorite places there a run for their money.
We had take out. Tacos and quesadillas... it was so so good. Even my kids liked it. So much so that they asked for it again tonight. (Take out was 5 nights ago) The staff was friendly and the funny thing is everyone who was there eating were talking about the food. How good it was, I didn't believe them. They were right, though... best little hidden gem of Woodbury. Who knew?!
Friendly service and good food!! Everything was fresh and handmade perfect. If you want good Mexican food, I would highly recommend this place! Small cosy environment ideal for family dinner or going out!
