El Rancho Grande Mexican And Cantina

Wanted to try a fajita Botana for 4 from a different place so we randomly choose this place. Need to say I drove from Edinburg to San Juan to try this new place as a carry out. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in what I received when I got home and opened up the bag. We called the restaurant from home in Edinburg and told them what we received. We literally thought we received a botana for 2 due to how small the plate was, and Believe me it was very small for a botana for 4. IExplained what was in the bag she said you did get one for 2 and for us to go back. Here we go back to SJ from Edinburg and when we get there they say it?s the one for 4. Why did they tell us over the phone it was not and make us go back toexchange? Everywhere I?ve gone serves a full plate of chips with beans and queso, not here. I guess they thought the two free drinks would be worth going back for. Now I get home with very cold food and spent $50 for the botana for 4.Never again!! Never ever again will I go to this place.

Went with my family to Church on Palm Sunday got out at 1130 went straight to have breakfast unfortunately they stop serving breakfast 1130am... I had a Chile relleno instead with beef and two crispy tacos and the plate was pretty big even for me. It feels like they home made most of the meal like the crispy taco shells weren't some store bought shells they looked homemade even the cheese looks like they grated it there. My daughter had some chicken tenders and my mom theMilenesa and both looked homemade as well. The restaurant looks modern and clean but it is pretty packed so on a Sunday expect a wait. I will say the beans and rice lacked flavor that salt or pepper couldn't save we asked for hotter salsaand they told us they didn't have any because it was being made, that and breakfast ending soon is why I didn't say 5 stars.

Exceptional Mexican food. For starters, we were served warm chips with a freshly made salsa and queso dip. The margarita sampler was fantastic as was the veggie soup served before the entree. I ordered the Taco Quesadilla and it was wonderful and such a huge serving that I took 2/3 of it home. My husband proclaimed that he's ordering it next time. We will definitely be back. Very nice family atmosphere.

First time here and was very impressed! The steak was delicious and fajitas melt in your mouth. The burger was flavorful too. Alcohol drinks are reasonably priced.

Incredibly good. Botana for 2 was absolutely amazing. The soup with the fish and shrimp in it was so fresh. Great spot.
