I have come here twice, both times were just ok to me. I don 't get the hype. I wanted to love it as I had heard so many great things but I really found the food to be nothing great. The first time, both myself and my husband ordered the Ribeye. Both were edible but the texture and flavor seemed lower quality. We were hoping for something decent from a place named Farm Table . The broccoli was good. We also ordered the stuffed mushroom, this was delicious. The server was ok. She did all the standard server things that she was required to do, like take our order, but seemed uninterested in general. The second time I came with a group of girls to give this place another try. No one loved their meal. It was all edible, just nothing stood out. The server on this visit was pleasant, chatted with us and was helpful with the menu.
Farm Table is located in the Gateway Commons Shopping Center in Wake Forest, in the same shopping Center with Lowes Foods. Parking is hard to find close to the restaurant so you usually need to park further down in the lot. It is a busy restaurant so make sure to make reservations. It is also noisy so not the best place to try to have a conversation. Some tables may be quieter than others though. The restaurant's menu changes on the season as they try to use produce in season. I went with the pork schnitzel than came on top of pesto pasta and was topped with arugula. It was a strange combination and would have been better in plated separately. The food is good but could be great.
This place is fantastic. Everything here tastes super fresh, and prepared the right way. The bone- in pork chop I had was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the two appetizers we started with (the beet salad and the fried green tomatoes) were bright and nicely presented and very flavorful. This place takes my top spot for best restaurant in Wake Forest right now.
Excellent dinner! The Lavender Martini was perfect. All our food was prepared as requested and the wedge salad was excellent. The blue cheese dressing is the best I’ve ever had. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
