This place never disappoints and is one of my favorite pasta places in nyc! It’s an affordable casual spot for pasta in Greenpoint. The biggest thing to note is that you have to be quick to snag a table- every time I’ve come it’s always very busy and the place is small and tight for the amount of people that come to eat! It’s self service so make sure to grab your own utensils and put away your dishes at the end. Order at the counter and they’ll bring your food to you when it’s ready. Don’t forget to ask for the focaccia bread if they don’t bring it out with your food!I haven’t tried all the pastas yet but so far my favorite of their regulars $13) is the pappardelle bolognese but honestly it’s hard to go wrong with any of their pastas. Their pasta is cooked very al dente and the sauces pop with flavor.
Great food. We had the Monday special: goat cheese and ricotta gnocchi, with Sicilian tomato sauce and fresh burrata. I can’t even begin to express how delicious this dish was. Atmosphere was low key and relaxing. Staff was very friendly. You ordered at the register and the staff provided a tray with glasses for water, silverware, napkins, and any other beverage you ordered along with a number to place on your table. When your food was ready a staff member brought it out to you. Very reasonably priced and the only downfall is we have nothing like this in Bangor, Maine. Next trip to the city will definitely include a trip to Forma Pasta Factory on Bedford St.Kid-friendliness: There were several young couples that came in with children and they all seemed very comfortable.
Y'all....$13 for the most scrumptious, flavorful, mouth-watering pasta dish in NYC???!! That's unheard of, but Forma has done it. Not only is their food delicious, but the service was super friendly and accommodating, despite how busy it was. Major shout-out to all the workers there for being attentive and going the extra mile for their customers all while doing a million things at once. Lines were out the door and for an understandable reason. Not pictured is the free bread you get on the side which is 10/10 and perfect for dipping. I can't wait to visit again! ?
Decided to visit after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It wasn’t difficult to get to by subway and well worth the trip. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The pasta was wonderful. I had the Mafaldine Scampi and my daughter had the Spaghetti Pomodoro. We both chose the lunch option to add a salad. Everything was fresh, tasty, plentiful, and affordable. The food was brought to us quickly and hot. It was worth the trip from South Carolina…via a trip to the Big Apple. I will certainly be returning and highly recommending it to others.
