Gasthaus zum Riesen

The Riesen (Giant) claims to be the oldest guesthouse in Germany. It is a traditional German restaurant offering local cuisine in a lovely renovated half-timbered house in the old town of Miltenberg. Bruce, the crass Australian had liver (one of his favorite dishes) and enjoyed it very much. The Faust beer (the brewery is located in Miltenberg) was very much appreciated, too! Very good and a place to go to in Miltenberg!

I was so glad we all agreed to eat here after a long day of exploration. What a way to end an already ingenious day! This is the oldest inn in Germany. Excellent, with his story alone; also a beautiful building and the atmosphere was perfect!! The food is authentic Bavarian and sooo delicious!!! There is also so much to see and do in Miltenberg.

We stopped in this little town and we’re looking for a good meal. It is a beautiful old city and this is the most beautiful building in town. We enjoyed the food and service very much. The food was very reasonably priced and tasty. We had a good variety of different foods and wine.

Lovely old building beautifully restored. Huge menu and good food, reasonably priced for a tourist spot. The evening is more relaxed and local as the bus and boat people aren't around. The restaurant is owned and managed separately to the accommodation.

Historic hotel, food was good beer was cold. Great spot to sit and people watch. Not much more I can say.
