We stopped here on a boat trip on the lake. It was hot and we wanted to sit at a shady table under the trees at the back but we were told that the area wouldn't be open for another twenty minutes which seemed odd. However we had a very nice lunch at another table at the front but it was hot under the canopy. The food was good - I had mixed salad with goats' cheese, a generous plateful, and enjoyed it very much.
Easily accessed by foot, and suitable for wheelchairs, via a lakeside path from St Gilgen, this hotel is also a calling point for the Lake Wolfgang steamer ships. A large outdoor dining area offers superb views whilst a wide selection of dishes from the menu offer great food at inexpensive prices. Service is quick and efficient with staff usually dressed in local costume. Well worth a visit!
