Dass das Ehepaar Falb-Oberreiter mit Leidenschaft und Begeisterung das Restaurant betreibt, mag man auch daran erkennen, dass sie ihre Zutaten eben nicht im Großhandel kaufen, sondern von regionalen, persönlich ausgewählten Produzenten beziehen. Käse, Fische, Fleisch, Gemüse und sogar die Essige kommen aus nachhaltiger Landwirtschaft und sind aufgrund ihrer Qualität ausgewählt worden. Diese Sorgfalt setzt sich auch in der Küche fort. Jeder Gang (und ich empfehle ganz klar ein mehrgängiges Menü) ist perfekt gewürzt, gegart und wunderschön angerichtet. Man freut sich auf jeden weiteren Bissen und ganz besonders auf die abschließenden, hausgemachten Pralinen.Es ist sicher kein billiges Gasthaus mit "Komponentenküche", sondern ein Spitzenrestaurant mit für die gebotene Qualität angemessenen Preisen. Jederzeit wieder!

This is a gasthaus/restaurant just a stone throw away from the Stift Rein (Cistercian Abbey Rein). It is rated a three star but it could pass for four. The rooms are specious clean and quiet. The restaurant and bar and nicely appointed and everything sparkles. It is run by a husband and wife team who are welcoming, friendly and speak perfect English. But the best part is the food. Mr Falb is a master chef creating super dishes using fresh local ingredients. When I booked the room we took their special package which includes the room and 5-course dinner for € 60,00 per person. We then added a bottle of local Sauvignon Blanc with the dinner and had a fantastic time. Then Mrs. Falb treated us with an after dinner drink made from grapa and pine cones, that was also very delicious. All in all a wonderful experience.

Great place in Austria.Here you are in a very nice place of Steiermark region, with a great nature and a very beautiful convent (Stift) close by. The rooms are beautiful and very cleaned. The food is with very high quality, very good looking for your eyes, but, of course, even better for your taste. The restaurant and the pension are managed by married couple. They are very friendly and they know what people need to feel like at home. Here you can speak German (of course), but even in English. Further they understand Italian and French enough to have a chat with you.The place where is located is also great for trekking!

Wir haben uns ein gutes "Steirisches Gasthaus" erwartet mit einem guten Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Leider ist hier nicht alles stimmig gewesen. Die Küchen kann mit den Preisen nicht mithalten. Der Salat ist leider schon sehr abgelagert gewesen und für die Miniaturausgabe auch zu teuer. Es passt hier für mich das Service die Küche und das Ambiente nicht überrein. Die Speisen haben allen gut geschmeckt, zumindest haben sie mich nicht enttäuschen wollen, als sie gefrag habe wie es geschmeckt hat. Alle haben geantwortet: Ja, eh gut! Es ist ein nettes Gasthaus wo man um den Gast bemüht aber den Gast nicht verwöhnt.

I was making a stop in this place to have a break before visiting the Rein Abby.During my stay I was having a talk with the owner in order to have some information about some hints in the region.The lady was leaving her work and was telling me much about the area I found this gesture very nice from her.The place is clean and tidy.I was feeling sorry that I was not able to stay for dinner hence I heard that they have a good chef cook, next time for sure.
