Giovanni's Detroit

I was very disappointed with the quality of food because Giovanni's was very recommended. Although my Chicken Piccata looked very present on the plate, it was Bland except the capers. The chicken didn't seem like it was pretty finished and it took some effort to cut the chicken with my knife. The sauce was a little on the watery side and had practically no lemon taste or much taste at all. My pasta supplement with Pomodoro sauce was tastier. The salad with housewear was excellent. My cheesecake for dessert was very good, but didn't have the orange taste I expected. But the Tiramisu of my friend was excellent. I would have ordered this because it's my favorite dessert. I have dined with two other friends and we all had a hard time to go to our table and read the menu because the lighting was too dim. This visit could have been a free day so I might try to see if the food is like this visit or not. But the food during this visit does not compare with other Italian restaurants that I and my friends had. Sarah, our server, was great. She was attentive, but not clear what was very nice. She checked us during our dinner to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted.

oUR sERVER, sHARON was very POLITE, INFORMATIVE AND ON TOP of EVERYTHING SUGGESTÄT, THE CLAMARI Our server, Sharon, was very polite, informative and remained on everything. She proposed the Calamari and said it was best tuned. We tried and loved it. They also gave us 3 specials that were not on the menu and we chose 2 of them The specials were undoubtedly a great choice. Her halibut on a bed of Risota was very tasty. I chose the Zuppa De Pesce. mild to medium level of spices was extremely tasty. We were happy with everything. Sharon's team helped her drive the tables, keep our glasses filled and collect our Valet Stub, so that our car would be on the boarding stone when leaving. Our evening of gluing was the best. I'll come back.

The food was absolutely fabulous and delicious, the service was great. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we plan to make it our once a month date night goal. I loved the waitress/server was so knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and ate the food personally. The restaurant was very romantic, quiet, but lively. The whole staff was friendly. We enjoyed that they were ready to make or add things that were not on the menu, like the Italian sausage of pizza Margherita, so delicious! I love the dishes being fresh and cooked to order.
