Wir machten Halt beim Weingut Rudolf Kurst in Burgstat. Nach unserer Verkostung empfahl Paul, der jetzige Besitzer, das Faust Braustübchen in Miltenberg zum Mittagessen. Allerdings waren Faust und die meisten anderen Restaurants in der Stadt am späten Samstagnachmittag und Mitte Februar geschlossen. Einige Einheimische empfahlen die Goldene Krone. Als wir eintraten, bemerkte ich ein Tripadvisor-Zertifikat in einem Schrank an der Wand, was ich interessant fand, da in Europa die meisten Betriebe, die stolz auf ihre Tripadvisor-Bewertungen sind, diese gut sichtbar anbringen. Die Auswahl und Qualität der Mahlzeiten war über dem Durchschnitt, den man in einem kleinen deutschen Dorf erwarten würde, und da wir die meiste Zeit die einzigen dort waren, war der Service großartig. In der Touristensaison oder zu Stoßzeiten kann es völlig anders sein. Wir waren mit unserer Erfahrung zufrieden. Als wir nach Hause kamen, habe ich nachgeschaut, um zu sehen, was die anderen Rezensenten von diesem Ort halten. Ich bin froh, dass wir es nicht vorher überprüft haben, denn sonst wären wir zum Essen in die nächste Stadt gefahren
Spicy bad food where most of the items on the menu were allegedly “sold out”. We believe that they simply do not have any of the “complicated” foods in stock. Only two tables were occupied. But worse was the service and recruitment of the staff. Since we weren't too hungry, we wanted to share something and say we had to pay for a second set of cutlery. Where did you ever hear that?! The staff also screamed over the whole restaurant, who it is to take the garbage out. This place can only survive on tourists who have no idea what they have come into themselves and who will not come back anyway. Worst place ever!!! Be warned to go there!
Our journey through Europe led us to Miltenberg, where we discovered this jewel. We were so lucky to get a table as the restaurant was completely booked nearby. The service was fast efficient. I couldn't help but order a carving I was so impressed. Served piping hot delicate meat that was not over crumbed. My wife had the Sausages Saurkraut. Our server, Edeka, gave us good instructions what to drink added their local knowledge of wines. This is a great find in Miltenberg. We recommend it very much. Tina Dhon Armour
We stayed in the beautiful old town of Miltenberg for lunch and chose the Golden Crown because of the very beautiful seating outdoors and traditional German menu. We were not disappointed! The service was friendly, competent and attentive. The food was fresh and very well prepared. I chose the Chicken Fricassee with a regional speciality Pasta called Spaetzle and Salad. A word of caution for foreign tourists: credit cards have not been accepted. Take cash!
