I visited El Mirador Restaurant for an evening meal with my family. Our waiter (I believe his name was Emilio) was unbelievably rude to start with as he was disrespectful and dismissive towards my wife when she dared to ask the details of a dish on their menu. On top of that they let customers smoke at their tables and even though they were sitting near the open windows the smoke was coming inside the restaurant. Dinner review: Croquetas were warm outside but still frozen inside; we complained and they took them back but came back boiling hot and when finally cooled down they tasted horrible anyway. Grilled Langostinas tasted odd and dry and looked old, in fact we don't think they were grilled but rather boiled. Revueltos de la casa: scrambled eggs, bacon and mushrooms. It tasted horrible Pizza margherita for the kids was decent. Puntillas were ok. the Pork fillet was undercooked on some parts and the Steak (Solomillo) came in two pieces which tasted completely different from each other (one tender and juicy and one hard and dry) Overall an unsavoury experience and we will never go back. Please note I am not a fussy eater and visited other restaurants on the island during our stay; they were all good!
The location was really nice, this was the reason we chose this place and because they had pizza. We ordered 2 pizzas and while waiting we got some bread with souces (we didn't ask for it, they just brought it so we thought it is included). The pizzas arrived in time but didn't have any taste at all. Even salt or pepper didn't help. We didn't even finish them, they were so bad. When paying they wanted to ask 1.50 for the bread that we didn't ask for. That was too much I told them we did not ordered that. At least they were nice, we didn't have to pay for that. I only realised after leaving that we still payed 1 euro plus than we would have to... So we basically spent 17 euros on terrible food, but at least next to the sea. I do not reccommend.
Ate at El Mirador as part of an organised day trip from our hotel. We were served salad and fresh warmed bread with (very lovely) salted potatoes as a starter and then we had Paella for mains. I opted for the 'safe ' meat Paella and it was lovely. Other guests who ate the seafood Paella also said how lovely it was. Simply a lovely lunch in a lovely setting with views over the old harbour. Perfect.
What a great find. Opposite the beach. Proper tablecloths and food to ,atch but there is a hidden gem in the back for families a soft play area. Enjoy fantastic steaks or pizza or pasta and let the children play but it doesn't disturb quieter eaters at the front of the restaurant
