Hellenic Hotel - Tisch reservieren

Went for lunch and 5 adults, 1 teenager and 5 kids under 6 and we were required to take the banquet which seemed unusual to start with as I'm not clear why 5 adults can't do a la carte and the toddlers could just share a couple of dishes.The banquet was not your usual banquet and was pretty light on in terms of food and the selection. We didn't get nearly the amount or range of food we expected for $55 a head!!! A tiny bowl of olives, 2 small plates of taramasalata - so just the one dip, with plenty of bread. 2 pieces of Saganaki but it didn't have the usual lovely flavour and I felt was quite over powered by the fig. We then got 1 small plate of cured meat. Our table was covered in empty glasses and empty plates which took a long time to clear.For mains we received a bowl of roast chicken pieces, one small grain salad and one small cucumber salad. Oh and a small jar or chips that we mistakenly thought were god the kids until we later realised it was part of the 5 person $55 a head banquet!!!We were disappointed and surprised at the limited variety and quantity of the food offering. No calamari, no lamb, no choice in our selection. Desert was donuts which there were enough of but no accompaniments like ice cream.We had to order extra chips ($13 for a medium plate of chips with feta - these were delicious but why weren't they served as part of the banquet instead of the small jar of plain chips?).We also had to order lamb as an extra. I've never felt the need to order extra food after a Greek banquet!!!! We were left feeling ripped off in that we were pushed into the banquet with a small group of adults and then given a disappointing selection and amount of food. We'd eaten at Hellenic Republic years ago and had a completely different experience. Looks like you guys are taking it too far in terms of trying to increase margins but it's at the expense of the customer. I hear Hellenic is opening in Brighton soon. 10 Greek Plates will give you a run for you money! Much better food, variety, service and value.

I had plans to check out another Greek restaurant but as I showed up I realized that the hours posted on their website were incorrect. So, I ended up here. I had only been once before and to the best of my knowledge it was late and there was a small late night menu. This time my husband and I arrived for a late lunch. The ambiance is pleasing with plants hanging from the high ceiling beams in between the first and second floor. The wait staff were very helpful and pleasant. I was looking for a nice white wine and the waitress pointed me towards a nice white Greek wine which was absolutely delicious. It was descried to me as a dry white wine. It was a great accompaniment to the dishes. First we started with the saganaki cheese which was wonderful and the fruit added a pleasant sweetness. Next we shared a spanakopita which was served in a twisted pastry that is unusual to the norm. It was delicious but the spinach was a bit undercooked for my liking. I am used to more chopped spinach rather than long strands of it in spanakopita. The pastry part of the dish was warm and buttery. My partner ordered the lamb and I ordered the whole fish which was snapper. They were both presented to our table in a wonderful fashion. Simple presentation and delicious. I had a taste of the lamb and it was amazingly moist and just fell off the bone. The fish was also delicious and very smooth in texture. This restaurant is a gem in the neighborhood of Williamstown and I look forward to dining with them again!

I really dig the setup at the Hellenic hotel. Plenty of seating, bright and welcoming. Kitchen right there so you can see the hard work going on behind the scenes.Service was great. They took our orders promptly. Were very helpful when choosing dishes. Refilled our water and took empty plates as soon as they were done. They were always smiling and super nice too, so was a very welcoming environment.As for the food, I'd like to start off by say the moussaka was pretty godlike. I think I will order two of those next time.Wasn't a huge fan of the chicken but the rest of the table loved it.But the lamb.. now that was delicious. So render and packed full of flavor.I also had to try their sticky date pudding and I'm glad I did. Easily one of the best sticky dates I've ever had. Will be getting another one next time we are here for sure. Well worth the visit.

Much publicity about this chain and to be honest we expected better. Plenty of food. No problem there. (We had the share banquet for 11 people). This place was busy. Amazingly busy with seated diners and take away. The staff seemed overwhelmed with the pressure and it showed in the service - or lack thereof. Chicken undercooked, asked three times for an extra wine glass that never arrived and Two mistakes on the bill. Not your typical Greek food. A bit of "fusion" going on. Will probably return, but not for a while.

Had a great lunch of the signature banquet. The place was buzzing and the food superb. What made the day was the waiter Nik Z who was absolutely amazing. We were superbly entertained and fed.
