Helluva Brewing Company

Wow, what a disappointment. It 's hard to believe that my 5-star (Yelp! review from 1.5 yrs ago has fallen so low. In short, the service sucked, so badly that we have no desire to return to Helluva.We arrived last Saturday shortly after 4 p.m. It was not busy (I saw more staff than patrons and although we were seated right away, it took about five minutes before a gal strolled over. Strike one! She apologized. For what? Well, after this experience, I can only guess she was apologizing for being too busy yapping w/ other staff that she didn 't come over sooner; or that someone didn 't come over to at least give us water.We took our drink order and appetizer (fried pickles . After delivering those, she took our meal order. Usually w/ appetizers, each person will receive a small plate to load up their individual tidbits of the appetizer. We never received those smaller plates, eating off the large appetizer plate. Strike two!Our meals were delivered in a relatively good time, however, not once did she come back to inquire how everything tasted. Strike three! Nor did she return to ask if we wanted a refill on water or the teas we had. My sister even put her EMPTY glass on the edge of the table, testing our server 's awareness. She was clueless. Strike four!She only returned when we began filling up our personal take-home containers and did not even ask if we wanted dessert. Even if we were packing up our plates, any decent server would ask did you save room for dessert? No, she did not do that. Strike five!In summary, I would be less harsh in my criticism if the place was super busy and they were short staffed. I would be more understanding in that situation. But when we watch our server standing up at the bar, chit-chatting with other servers, clearly her priority is not her customers, and she had no qualms ignoring us. So we had no qualms not leaving a tip.

Highly recommended for both food and beer!The atmosphere here is glorious unless you're not a fan of industrial, open concepts; fortunately I am no matter how often I see it. Service, food, and beer were all solid and we tried almost all their beer offerings! There's a plethora of televisions everywhere, making it a great spot to watch any sporting event.Short digression: I'm a big fan of fried pickles and their unique take on the frickle is not great. It's a length-wise cut which is then breaded. This is a problem because, like the case of the spear, once you bite into it, the breading slides off. It tastes good but this is not the way.Overall, this is a great spot and their peanut butter and jelly burger is a delight. Don't knock it until you try it!

This place is amazing atmosphere and wait staff. Jimmy was truly awesome and attentive. Even noticed we needed assistance getting a wheelchair in the door and he came and opened and welcomed us in. The Black and Blue salad was amazing-tri tip was cooked perfectly for a cold salad, bleu cheese dressing was unbelievable. Chicken tenders were lightly breaded with onion straws were super delicious. Mimosa flight was excellent. We will go back and likely become regulars. Look forward to trying something different next time! Highly recommended.

Great spot love the space, beer was delicious and food was also delicious! Staff was super friendly and service was pretty quick definitely recommend!
