This restaurant has 3 methods. During lunch there is a buffet, mostly catered to kids who visit while being in the Zoo. For dinner this place turns into a nice up-scale version of a Thai place. On (some) Sunday’s they also have a buffet for dinner. Not all concepts have the same quality though. For dinner the prices are rather steep, certainly for Thai-food. Think 30-50 chf for a main dish and 23.50 for the mixed starters. But, the quality is so good that it justifies the prices. Especially the Wok-dishes are delicious. During dinner the light is a bit dimmed and the interior is cozy but spacious. On the terrace you can overlook the camels or quickly walk to the elephants/giraffes. People with great vision will also be able to see some monkey’s and big cats. Don’t miss the cocktail menu. For lunch this place is completely different. A ready-made buffet where you get some food dumped on your plate; prison-style. Tastes are off, contents are under or overcooked, seasoning is wrong. Whether this is on purpose (don’t care) or whether the staff can’t handle it, I don’t know. It’s not how I want my kids to think Thai food should be. It is astonishing that the same restaurant can serve Thai-how-it-shouldn’t-be and the-most-subtle-and-delicious-Thai with just a few hours in between. I’d come back for dinner, but for lunch I would stay far far away.
