Hobos At The American Legion

I never thought to get recommendations to eat at a legion, but we gave it try and it was great! Food was good and service was fast! Great friendly local atmosphere and it was packed! We tried to go the first night we were in town (A Tuesday) and we had to wait. I had no time to sit around for other dates, so we came back the next day. So busy when not busier then the night before, but we waited. Do not wait if you want to sit at the bar as long as there is an open seat. The servers were very helpful and friendly. When asked for a recommendation, she illuminated the common favorites, fried chicken and introduced a group of other options. We both were not disappointed and were surprised and how reasonable everything was expensive. Definitely worth a try and Will back to try some other options on the menu!

There's never ending gold available at Hobo's. I've been here half a dozen times in the last several years and my family and I are never disappointed. The food is always hot. The options are robust and filling and the atmosphere is always electric. the smoked chicken sandwich was the perfect, tasty part of today's lunch. My daughter had the tasty Fried Chicken Wrap. A couple of notes when heading to Hobos: Depending on the time of day, you're likely in for a wait and like many other restaurants they charge far too much for a fountain drink. Beyond that, you're GUARANTEED great food on your next stop, along with being able to take in a great piece of St. Charles' nostalgia. Great work, Hobo's as usual!

I've been eating at Hobos for years. I was very rarely unsatisfactory. Do not expect perfection every time, that is not a Michelin rated restaurant. But it hits the nail on the head much, much more often than not. Of course, you should expect to wait, sit. All GOOD restaurants have a long wait. I showed up with 13 people at my party just before 5:00 and we sat within an hour. Our waitress, Mercy, was all you want. She was happy, smiling and engaged. She took our orders with zero errors. I checked with everyone at the party and no one had problems with service or food. In the end it was a very happy birthday for me. I love my family, friends and eating at HOBOS.

Dear Hobos! You have the best fried fish. The menu says fried fish, it doesn't say catfish. It's a white fish, and Hobo's is my favorite place to go for fish. They also have excellent fried chicken. They have a big menu to choose a lot, and their secondary dishes are GOOD. You're always as busy as the waiters are like crazy. If you go during the day (I think they are closed on Mondays, try to go at 4:00 if possible. The lines can be long. You also have To Go commands. You have some tables out there. You have a bar. Excellent food, staff are super friendly, prices are reasonable. It's a Hoppin' place!

I order something new every Saturday from the lunch menu. Never had a bad meal. Wels Nuggets are amazing. Very recommended Hobos!
