A group of 13 of us were met by Mikie a young fella who gave us the impression that he could not be happier working at Hogs Breath he handled all the running comments and jokes that you'd expect to get from a group of country Australian blokes with ease and all were impressed with his skills and service. He was the only staff member who was outstanding the entire night. Even managed to change the channel on the telly so the boys could watch the footy. As for the other staff....... repeatedly leaving the bar unmanned or having 6 people queuing for drinks with one serving and two staff in the background drinking and chatting is very poor. (Although a separate occasion for lunch, they weren't to much better for dinner)The food was a good 4++ stars steak came out perfect, ribs were up there with the best and the salt and pepper calamari was amazing. Beautiful location! Can someone give Mikie a bonus/raise! Or free meals or something more than a pat on the back, this guys service was incredible. The best I have seen in any restaurant of this type. I'd be looking after him before he goes elsewhere....cheers for adding to a great night out Mike. We were all very impressed.

Fallen to ruin - Been going to Hogs Breath around Qld for years for their Steaks, but not seen one for 10 years so took the chance when we spotted the HBC at the Marina - they used to "age" their meat and it was incredible in the 80's, 90s and 2000 - but now it's just pppppffft , tough, slimy, chewy blah .... not worth a cent. For $32 i got a tiny piece of "D" grade meat, and no "Smoke" flavour at all. You need a very sharp knife to cut through it, it was so tough, chewy and had trouble swallowing such a cheap cut after prolonged mastication. I thought about sending the whole meal back but did not want to spoil my partners night out with a scene. The waiter started out enthusiastically but soon disappeared - and we were left standing at the counter for 10 mins with a bunch of other annoyed customers. Staff were loitering in the distance chatting to their friends and oblivious of the restaurant.the curly chips were worth a Star - otherwise Zero stars. Stay away.

We were most disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. We came up from NSW and were looking forward to having a slow cooked prime rib fillet. It was not to be as we were told at seven o'clock at night on a week night that they had run out. Very disappointing and especially so as this was not the first time. We will definitely not be back. The Hogs Breath at Victoria Point has never let us down in this way so we will be giving our business to them in the future.

I have been going to Hoggs Breath for a couple of years and the food is consistently good. The steaks are cooked to perfection and there is a good choice of toppers and sides. The meals include vegetables or salad, and I love the curly fries and sweet potato fries. I can never order dessert because I'm always too full from the main meal.
