The Hohe Buche is a hill-top between Trogen and Bühler, a favourite destination for a short hike or cycling tour, but accessible by car as well. The restaurant has a limited menu of hot and cold local dishes, basic but well-prepared. Don't miss the draught cider - in winter, it is still pretty mild, but by summer, all the sugar has fermented away and it's pretty strong.From the Hohe Buche, you have spectacular views across Lake Constance into Germany to the north, the Alpstein from Hoher Kasten to Säntis in the south, and over the rolling hills of eastern Switzerland to the west. In the east, you can glimpse the tops of Vorarlberg mountains in Austria. On a clear day, a worthwhile destination.
Das Essen war okay, aber nicht wunderbar. Es gab einige normale Gerichte, aber nichts Besonderes oder einen Besuch wert. Ich war sehr enttäuscht, dass es keine Möglichkeit gab, die Schwindsucht unserer Tochter zu ändern. Sie sagten, wir könnten es auf den Boden bringen, wenn wir wollten. Ich habe nichts Lustiges erwartet, ein Ikea-Tisch mit einer dünnen Matratze würde es tun. Es gab nur einen Hochstuhl für kleine Kinder und es gab drei Babys gleichzeitig.
The food was ok but not wonderful. There were some regular dishes but nothing special or worth the visit. I was extremely disappointed that there was no way for us to change our daughter's diapers. They said that we could it on the floor if we wanted. I didnt expect anything fancy, an Ikea table with a thin mattress would do it. They only hadone high chair for small children and there were three babies at the same time.
after a short ascent of store you get this wonderful view of the säntis area. kitchen is good and comfortable.
