Hotel Alpenruh Restaurant

We were privileged to be in Murren in December in the snow. Most of the town was closed but Hotel Alpenruh was open. We were just going to have coffee, after a snowy walk through the town, but the hospitality we received made us decide...to stay for lunch. First we were given warm furs to sit on, we chose to sit outside in the beautiful sunshine, as well as blankets for our legs. We chose the Rosti and a local beer. The Rosti was delicious, with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The atmosphere created by our waitress had our 3 tables, from different parts of the world all chatting. A wonderful experience, with a view beyond belief.

We ate dinner three times in the restaurant, including BF and lunch. Dinner and lunch were very good the Rosti was well prepared, the Zuccini dish with Racllete was nice, the soup house and the cream of spinach were excellent, and the salad...was also good. Good vegetarian options. We didn't try the wines. The service was also very courteous, smiling and friendly. The prices were reasonable. Overall we had a pleasant time.

We felt like eating in a sauna the room was probably heated to 28 degrees. Eating was provided AVG and not much explanation. Wine choice was just as bad. The worst thing was when I said that the wine had cork tast, they changed... it and accused it!

Although the restaurant is very well located, the menu list is very limited and food not on normal Swiss level, but far below! We can't recommend it.

Very well cooked kitchen, served by friendly competent staff! We will soon enjoy more of their delicious menus! Thanks for a pleasant cozy evening.
