By coincidence we discovered this place just beside the river Aare. Beautiful place to sit outside, no traffic noise and view over the river. We enjoyed a real Italian espresso and marvelous Italian sweets. My be the only disappointing point was, that we got the espresso and the sweets came about 5 minutes later. Well the coffee was so lovely so we ordered afterwards another one. Later on I was able to visit the kitchen then I saw that each dessert was instantly prepared by hand. Nothing was prepared in the morning and then conserved in the fridge or deep freezer, as it happens very often. We will come back and plan to enjoy a dinner. The atmospher inside was very attraktive, too.
what makes a restaurant take a full note? 1- ambiance: old "stone-wood" building with perfect lighting and decorations 2- wonderful food: we had the full 4 course meal, the anti-pasti were of the best Italian Entrée I ever had! The quality and presentation of the other courses were equally good with a fine wine list!3- service: the staff were professional and friendly. The staff-chef spoke 4 languages and told us the story behind each meal and each stone of the house! Only at the end we realized that we have spent 4 hours dinging and enjoying our time!!
One of a kind experience, again and again. Never before on many trips to Italy and other countries we enjoyed such tasty and elaborated antipasti. Followed by a light creamy herb soup with spicy shrimps, spaghetti with local truffles, risotto, veal and pork in a sumphony. All thatcrowned by an all time best plum cake escorted by its own sorbet.Not to forget: have a closer look in to the wine cellar!The place is stunning beautiful, hosted by warmhearted staff.
