Indien Le Taj Mahal

My partner has been in Macôn for several weeks and been to this restaurant a few times, he thought I would really like the food so took me on Thursday night. The owner is very friendly and very helpful with suggestions for food. We both really like Indian food and are quite fussy. We explained that we liked very spicy for my partner and not so for myself. The food when it arrived was excellent and we both commented that there was not as much ghee as normal which we appreciated. We have decided to take friends to this restaurant tonight as it was so good. You can sit outside, but you are on the main road so you may have some young idiots drive by. Otherwise a very good restaurant and reasonable price! Thank you.

My wife and I were staying almost next door in the Hotel Du Nord, which was fine. We were tired and uncharacteristically did not check out the restaurant with Tripadvisor. An indifferent restaurant in Macon would be an oxymoron I thought. On a Sunday night, we were the only diners at this restaurant while we were there. The portions were small and the consistency was that of tinned food. There was no offer of papadoms and pickles to start with and no on table warming device so the food was was warm rather than hot. That night I had indigestion.

Really good food the indian beer and house red is very good and exceptional service what more is there to say ??? It does not look much from the outside but please give the Taj a try you will be pleasantly surprised

After living in Sydney, the US, this is by far the worst Indian I have had. Not only that, the portion size was tiny and double the price we would pay in Sydney. Very disappointing.

Service and surroundings okay...so was the meal ....but not very spicy and quite bland. Wondering if this was adapted for the french palate?
