Jack's Seafood Soul Food

When you order food from here, you will most likely find the line at least a half an hour deep, with everyone waiting quite patiently for their food. There is a reason for that: this is food worth waiting for. When I go, and I go when I want a stick tomy ribs good eatin', I get the smothered pork chop. The gravy is delicious, the pork chop tender and salty, and the okra . . .Dear goodness, the okra! I also love the fried fish--the fry on it is crispy and salty, and pairs well with the mashed potatoesor green beans. Everything I love about the Southern meals I crave are found in these dishes. Portions are generous, andeverything is packed to go; I take my meal and drive down the road to a local brewery with an open food policy, and it makes fora wonderful Saturday evening. If you are on the fence, I absolutely 100% recommend this place if you are looking for a fantasticSouthern dinner. I would give it six stars if I could!

Small little hole in the wall I searched for while working one night craving some fried fish near downtown. Good portions for what is fair price for seafood restaurants. Good service and fast. Fish was fried, good little crunch with the batter. Fries andokra were delicious. Hushpuppies were a heavy yellow cornmeal variety. Not my favorite but passable. Only thing I would suggest is a wire rack after frying the fish. I had a large amount of grease at the bottom of my container that had my secondpiece of fish a little bit soggy. Update: Visited a second time got the Three Way Combo with potato salad and mac and cheese.They really hooked me up! Gave me a large amount of fish and the hush puppies were great this time. Potato salad wasn't myfavorite. Love the food here but this location gets a little shady at night.

My family and I decided to stop in and get dinner while visiting the Raleigh area. I wanted to support a black owned restaurant. We were not disappointed. The place was packed and there was a bit of a wait between ordering and getting our food but itwasn?t unbearable and the people waiting along with us were friendly. My guess is that is a normal encounter if you?re a regularpatron. When you get your order the staff make sure you check it for any mistakes before departing. The food was very goodbetween the fried chicken, shrimp and veggie plate. My only drawbacks are there was no where to sit and eat and the portionsfor the veggie plate could?ve been more. Overall a positive experience.

I?ve eaten here plenty of times so I don't want to really complain. 1st time trying the seafood whiting platter. And by the time of drove off. My car was smelling so bad and so fishy. Never had fried fish that smelled so awful. Was on my lunch break so Icouldn?t take it back. Waisted $14 because I?m scared I?ll get food poisoning. I?ll stick to the chicken meals

For Sure this Place is 100% Delicious!! Had to leave a review, got the flounder, hushpuppies, sweet potato, fried okra. Amazing!! who ever is frying food in the back is a perfectionist (Mistro) For Sure! Under 12$.????????????????????
