The owner grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, right across the bridge from Detroit and Tiger Stadium. The first clue was the HUGE beautiful mural on one wall of this restaurant. The vantage point is from the 3rd base line in Tiger Stadium during a game. The rest of the restaurant is filled with photos of Tiger players circa 1968 (Denny McLain, etc.), as well as photos of the stadium and other major league ballparks. The rest of the walls are decorated with celebrity photos (some autographed) and assorted interesting items. A very high ceiling in this old building gives the place even more ambience. The menu is wide-ranging, and many items are done with a slight "twist". Unlike most restaurants with large menus, I'm guessing nothing makes this menu unless it's very good. I can vouch for the meatloaf, while my teenager was very happy with his meatballs and gluten-free pasta. Don't worry, lot's of vegetarian options, salads, etc. It's NOT just a meat-and-potatoes place. Prices are in the C$9 - $13 range for entrees. You won't leave hungry.Get here EARLY or make a reservation. Locals have overrun this place for 29 or 30 years. If you come during the early part of your trip to Victoria, you might find yourself visiting a second time...whether you like baseball or not.
