My favorite sushi restaurant in Berkeley so far! They have the largest, freshest and most interesting selection of Sashimi in the area, from tuna to Ankimi (Montfischleber) to Makrele. They also have a solid selection of rolls, including the typical spider roll and the more unusual oshizushi (box pressed sushi). I wouldn't come if you don't want to spend the money, or if you want sashimi and roles in large amounts. I would come here for fresh and tasty bites and a new fish to try every time.
If you are looking for Omakase quality sushi without the high price tag, I recommend Kamado! My partner and I ordered 2 Chefs choice (ordered on our table instead of the sushi bar because we wanted a casual culinary experience) together with an additional dish (not shown) for under $200 after tax. Pretty reasonable for choosing premium fish you get imo! I was here a few times and her food and service was consistent. A must try when you're in the area.
We felt very spoiled ordering the Omakase (chef’s choice) sashimi. We tried almost every special/seasonal fish they had- and some unique preparations and presentations. Jin took very good care of us. This place was impressive and amazing quality. The fish is flown in overnight from Japan. Very fresh and top quality! Other reviews say it’s the best sushi in the area- I would agree!! Order the omakase.
Beautiful presentation and tastes great every time! We were from the presentation and delicious taste of what we had to eat! The Miso soaked Sea Bass Dinner was excellent! The Mushroom Miso soup is worth trying. The dragon roll and other sushi we ordered were great! We look forward to our next visit! See my photos from the food and the menu.
