We went here as a treat for the kids. All I can say is don't dine in. The food was fine, but service was slow for a fast food place. My youngest got a free ice cream with his meal so after we finished our main meal we had a second order for ice cream, again with slow service. As a result, we were 13 minutes over the maximum time allowed in the car park. The Smart Parking operation that runs the car park passed our details straight to a debt collecting agency, and we were told we had 14 days to pay £170. As we hadn't been notified by Smart Parking of the fine, Smart Parking started an appeals process that would last a month, but didn't cancel the debt collecting agency, so we were still liable for court action. Note that apparently the original notification of the fine from Smart Parking and prompt payment would've cost us £60 but we never saw this. First we saw was the debt collection agency asking for £170. KFC have continually sent us rather standard replies to our complaints that they should a) have a way that customers can extend parking beyond the limit if it is their slow service causing the delay and b) think about changing the companies they employ for parking, as these aggressive tactics of employing debt collecting agencies before we were even notified is outrageous. Please note: we are not quibbling the parking fine per se. But: • KFC refuse to admit their part in this caused by their slow service and their employment of an aggressive company • KFC have no contingency plans in place for valid customers who stay over. The way KFC continually wash their hands of this shows they don't give a damn about their customers. We won't be going again.
