Kim Chi Korean Cafe

Got Shiiitake mushroom bibimbap, tofu kimbap tteok bokki (cooked rice cake). The sauce from the tteok bokki was helpful to add more taste and moisture to the other dishes. The food was quickly prepared and was delicious and filled. The staff was not very friendly or helpful without the allergen list on the wall and previous reviews I would have been worried about vegan food. They did not tell us that the Kimchi was not veggie (fish sauce in it) had to pretend that the dishes came without them.

Staff were friendly and willing to chat about ingredients to make sure food was suitable for me. I had the bibimbap with shiitake mushrooms, and vegetable dumplings as a side. Both were really tasty, and my whole meal cost less than £10! The staff also gave us a free sample of a new soup they were testing out, which was delicious. Hitchin doesn't have masses of vegan options, so this cafe is a great addition for veggies in the area : Updated from previous review on 2020-10-29

Very small menu, but the food I got was delicious: the fucking mushroom bibimbap was delicious and really filling, and the tofu bags were great (although I think they should come with a sauce that made them even better). There is an allergen list on the wall, but a note that says on double check. The Kimchi itself has fish in so that the mushroom made bibimbap without.

I had Kimbap with oyster mushrooms - it was delicious and freshly prepared would come back to try other dishes!
