Kitsch'n'

.is not a café. I wouldn't even write a review if it weren't for the foreign guests visiting Strasbourg. Yes, many "colorful locals" there. But not a place where I would go alone and again, one of those places where your eyes already warn you not to eat/drink, since it looks a little wishy-UNwashy. The crowd is matching, hence not a place that I would recommend to out-of-towners. Not relaxing to go there as a woman: public not very subtle, some of them bothering you even though you're accompanied. Level of cleanliness of place seems to match the clientèle.

Happened on this place the evening we arrived in Strasbourg- about the only bar open in this area of town at 10pm! To say it's unpretentious is understating, but it has charm. Decorated in 1950's kitsch (hence the name),? it has a strong local following. On one visit they were having an open mike night for the spoken word - interesting. The beer is the main draw though, with a good range of Alsace beers and imports. They serve good but we didn't try it out - seemed to be simple bar good. Each time we visited the place was really busy.

This is a charming little local bar and restaurant with a different attitude about it. The food isn' t great but it's good. It must be doing something right because the locals seem to fill the place most nights. Recommended if you can find room.

Perfect place for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful, is great to be eating there and at the same time enjoy the sun and the amazing city. The food is good, the staff is very friendly and the service is fast, I could not ask for more.

It's Kitsch (as the name suggests) without being tacky. Lots of live music happening all the time and the fries are cheap and tasty.
