Ich habe dieses Restaurant letzten Sommer entdeckt und es war ein gutes Abendessen. Der Besuch war auch dieses Jahr angenehm. Das Traditionshaus liegt buchstäblich an der schweizerisch-deutschen Grenze, an der Holzbrücke über den Rhein. der Speisesaal ist warm und gemütlich; viele Stammgäste auf. Mein Besuch, das ist immer ein gutes Omen. Der Chefkoch kam regelmäßig vorbei, um die Zufriedenheit der Gäste zu befragen. Seine Frau kümmerte sich um den Service: herzlich und freundlich, wenn auch manchmal etwas langsam. Die Speisekarte ist Schweizer Tradition mit Schwerpunkt auf lokalem Fisch und regionalen Produkten. Als Vorspeise hatte ich eine hausgemachte Fischsuppe mit Curry, geschmackvoll und lecker. Als Hauptgericht wählte ich einen der Tagesvorschläge: Zander serviert mit Spargel. lecker und sehr großzügig: der Fisch war frisch und perfekt gebacken. Ich beendete mein Abendessen mit einem erfrischenden Parfait-Glacé mit Marie Brizard. Qualität hat ihren Preis und Krone macht da keine Ausnahme: Die Rechnung für das Abendessen betrug 88 CHF. Aber die Fischqualität und der herzliche Service sind es wert.
I discovered this restaurant last summer and it was a good dinner. This year's visit was equally enjoyable. The traditional house is literally on the Swiss-German border, by the wooden bridge crossing the Rhine.The dining room is warm and "gemütlich"; many regular guests on my visit, which is always a good omen. The chef came out regularly to enquire about the guests satisfaction - much appreciated. His wife took care of the service: warm and friendly, although slightly slow sometimes. The menu is Swiss traditional, with focus on local fish and regional produce.As starter I had a homemade fish soup with curry - flavourful and tasty. As main course I chose one of the day suggestions: zander served with asparagus. Delicious and very generous portion: the fish was fresh and perfectly baked. I ended my dinner with a refreshing Parfait Glacé flavoured with Marie Brizard. Quality has its price and Krone makes no exception: the bill amounted to CHF88 for the dinner. But the fish quality and warm service are well worth it.
Wonderful restaurant owned and run by a well-traveled, fun couple, who can cook you up anything with their daily fresh ingredients bought from local farmers, and even self-picked mushrooms, etc. They will cook around your allergies and intolerances too! Their style is French/Swiss, and you will find everything from fresh vegetables to local fish, to local meats and cheese.
The owners of this place are very friendly and helpful, their fish dishes are excellent. Prices are quite high - but that's Switzerland.If you can get a table near a window you're guaranteed good views across the Rhine to Germany - the restaurant is right next to the old wooden covered bridge that acts as the border post.
