Kupfer-Dachl - Tisch reservieren

It is hard to find words for what we experienced yesterday at the “Kupfer-Dachl.” With seven people inclusive guests from Italy and Switzerland, we took considerable time to get there to celebrate the round birthday of my mother. Overestimating the travel time, we arrived too early, at (Opening hours as per website from – As we arrived at the garden terrace, a grumpy looking woman approached us, informing us in the most rude tone that the restaurant was not open yet, that our reservation was for later, and that she could not do anything for us. When we asked for a place, where we could just sit together and wait, the women – who turned out to be the owner – became even more loud and unfriendly, went on and on yelling why we would show too early, and finally pointed toward two chairs in a lousy looking entrance area and barked “two people can sit here, another solution I don’t have.” By then everyone in the group was shocked and upset, and clearly we had lost all interest to stay any longer at this place, where we were obviously not welcome. This barking and rudeness just makes you want to run away. In general, we were all in agreement: the worst experience we ever had in Austrian gastronomy, and a far cry from the friendly smile on the company`s website photo. A note to the owner: How embarrassing and shameful! Why are you in the hospitality business if you resent guests so much ? To treat guests like this who come from far to dine at your place is simply just sad and unprofessional. As a professional host you should have the necessary flexibility to handle such situations much better. Even if our reservation was for later, you could have quickly made up a table somewhere for us where we could have simply sat together and waited, or proposed any solution to wait elsewhere and return later. What counts is the feeling of “being welcome”, to project friendliness and even just a small effort to find a solution…… with a friendly tone everything would have been possible. Unfortunately the round birthday of my mother, which we then celebrated elsewhere, was damaged by this bad experience. No worries, you will not see us again in your restaurant, and we will certainly not recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful scenic view at the terrace, overlooking the landscape from Hohe Wand to Schneeberg. Solid interior inside, a bit run of the mill, which does not create a stylish or authentic atmosphere. The menu spans pretty wide from regional kitchen to the north of Italy....The wine list is fine, but can't always compliment the menu spectrum. Today's dishes left some mixed feelings, all soups were very good and creative, both the cordon-bleu and the pikeperch were good, but the chicken-breast was lacking distinctive taste and the risotto, that came with the chicken, was overcooked. The service was quick and friendly, very professional when we provided feedback on the risotto. The expectation of a rated Gault Millau and Falstaff restaurant wasn't entirely met in the categories of creativity, finesse and execution.

Die Besitzerin des Restaurants ist eine Persönlichkeit in Sachen Feinschmecker zufrieden zu stellen! Es reicht nicht nur zu bestellen, man wird auch bestens beraten! Die Reihenfolge der dazu passende Wein alles vom Feinsten! Hier zu speisen ist ein Erlebnis, ob Stelze, Steak oder die Empfehlungen sind exzellent in Verarbeitung und Darbietung!Freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch!

Wir waren Mai diesen Jahres hier, weil wir eine Süßspeise essen wollten.Das Restaurant ist sehr schlicht und einfach eingerichtet, die Bedienung freundlich und die Nougatknödel waren sehr lecker. Die Preise sind angemessen.

Essen SUPER, Weine ausgezeichnet… für mich eine echter Favorit. Das Service war sehr, nett und zuvorkommend. Hat alles gepasst!Leider mussten wir als Hundebesitzer auf der Terrasse sitzen. Ende sind im Lokal nicht erlaubt.
