First time here. Lunchtime two menus one at 17€ second 24.50€ both three course. Menubsait dishes could not be changed......great when you have cheese allergy ! Entrees were fine and beautifully presented, main three of us on the more expensive menu had cod on risotto very nice indeed, my wife had the turkey it was a good sized piece and nicely presented but it was raw in the middle!! We could not say anything as we were invited there by clients who were treating us. Onto desert the three on the more expensive menu had a wonderful chocolate and mandarin mousse dessert, top marks here it was great......my wife allergic to cheese which we had told the waiter was served the sweet from her menu Panacotta !! When she pushed it aside the waiter did ask if there was a problem she said yes it is cheese I cannot eat it, it was removed but nothing was offered as an alternative....very bad. Overall view, the more expensive menu was fine, allergies could not be catered for, limited menu no choice of dishes just a two meal menu that was unchangeable.....such a pity
We went with friends for lunch. There was only the choice of 2 menus, the menu du marché or menu plaisir. I elected to have the menu du marché. My soup was very average with some disgusting foam on the top. My main was a chunk of turkey breast which was raw in the centre! The rest of the party had the menu plaisir. The starter was fine the fish was ok but very small portions. Their pudding was spectacular. Won’t both returning as there are better places to eat in Pontivy.
Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Some of the meals as they were a bit too creamy and bland but our biggest disappointment is that they ran out of the dessert we had ordered at the start of the meal and the replacement was not very good. This was made worse when a table who arrived after us then received what we had ordered!
Best in Pontivy. And beyond. Don't expect the tired menu of pizza and pasta. This restaurant is the real thing. Enjoy. McKenna-Le Guével Malguenac
