If you happen to travel in the area (close to the Paris/Bagnolet coach station), it's definitely worth calling at 'La Bifurcation' ('The Junction'). In a cosy and relaxed environment, enjoy modern French courses or sub-saharian-inspired dishes while drinking baobab or hibiscus juice (bissap). Add a kind staff and reasonable prices and you have there an outstanding Parisian estaminet. Apparently they also do brunches in the same French/African style, I will try it one day and let you know.
I found this restaurant through tripadvisor and I would recommend this to anyone. When we arrived the restaurant was empty which to us seemed a bit alarming since it was 8 pm on a friday night. Anyway, we sat down and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and you could taste the chef's love and passion for food. Fresh products, innovative combinations and all very tasty. That tasty that we went back saturday. (the restaurant was full then btw. As it should be.)
We had dinner in this little but very well organized place that I discovered during a random walk in Bagnolet. The service was very efficient and fast; the lady who served our table was extremely kind and patiently explained to us all the menu and the different "formules". They propose a very interesting and original menu which mixes the typical French cuisine with very tasty African recipes. Go and check their plats du jour!
La Bifurcation is small restaurant looking simple but serving super delicious and beautifully arranged food! Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere.
