La Caixeta Bistro

We stumbled across La Caixeta while trying to find El Caliu which was rated as number 1 on TripAdvisor. El Caliu didn't look very inviting or inspiriting from the outside so we decided to try La Caixeta instead. The décor is unusual, casual and inviting. The service was very friendly. And the food was great. Imaginative salads and great burgers. Nice wine served at the right temperature. And great music. What more can you ask for? Hopefully it'll be at the number one spot before too long.

Back to La Caixeta after some months it keeps really on the must-go in Puigcerda. This time we tasted different tapas and every single one was extremely good. The house ecologic red wine -Penedes- was also very good and they offer it on a pay-as-you-drink basis. Lovely. Homemade hummus, excellent jamon iberico, mini raclette burgers, soup, empanadas,… this is a selection of the food we shared and enjoyed last weekend in Puigcerda. Fresh made food, original decorating (the owner told us it was all recuperation) and friendly service. It really gives the place a soul. We enjoyed the experience here!

The setting is really cozy and quirky, really fun to sit and relax! The wine and food was absolutely amazing! We got hummus, cheese/meats, and tuna tartare, which was one of my favorite things I ate while in Spain overall. Would recommend 100%!

Really excellent! Relaxed atmosphere, amazing decoration and superb cuisine in the core of Puigcerdà. Enjoy!
