La Campagne St. Lazare

We were guests at the hotel which is a magical place...surrounded by trees, flowers, a pond and just the sound of nature. Our host Isabelle is kind and passionate about this place and their healthy lifestyle and nutrition. She is happy to share with her guests the story of this place and to give healthy tips regarding nutrition. You would see her just before the sunset going around the garden to pick flowers and herbs to use for the dinner. And the outcome was really surprising: excellent and original vegetarian meals, beautifully presented, prepared with simple and fresh ingredients, local and bio. Needless to say we ended up eating here every night. The chef is Isabelle's daughter, Barbara, a young and talented lady. Really really surprised, we will be back. This place has an added value! Bravo!

A reduced substance like French onion soup in filo, followed by truffles and egg – a pot of scrambled eggs w/slices of truffle… ugh. This at 40 Euros pp – Absurd. And a small and equally expensive wine list And despite the owner seeing we ate nearly nothing she made no attempt a concession. I understand her daughter who is involved in reflexology is also the chef. I hope she makes a career in the reflexology world and leaves the kitchen. Appalling. And this in an area where very good food is cheap and easy to come by – a real, real pity and waste of good money.

By far the best vegan option in Provence. Exceptional experience not only for vegans. Not cheap but definitely worth it.
