La Chapelle - Tisch reservieren

I have not been that impressed with many french restaurants. It was a cold evening when we ate here so we were inside - not that good an atmosphere. More young hanging around than we realised and did wonder if we had made a good choice. But for the price the food was excellent. Had a starter with pasta and a cheese cream sauce with pesto. Superb - could have had as a main with crusty bread. The pork was also excellent and I have to say the other dishes coming out of the kitchen also looked good In fact one of the best mid priced meals we have had in France. Indeed better than some of the expensive food we have had. Service was excellent and whole place had a friendly atmoshpere of a local.Ended up being very pleasantly surprised.

This is one of our favorite restaurants of our 6-week trip, and we ate there twice. We enjoyed dining at an outdoor table in a beautiful 16th century Renaissance court in the historic district. We loved the food, all full of flavor, and plenty of it. (This is not the mini portions served at some restaurants.) Good menus are offered at 19 € and 28.50 €. Dishes we loved: starters of gratin of ravioli and cassolette d’escargots; main courses salmon with shallot and chive cream sauce, risotto of coquilles Saint-Jacques, and magret of duck with orange wine sauce. Good wine by the carafe, such as Mâcon-Villages white 7.60 € for 46 cl. For beer-lovers: Leffe on tap.

The main High Street in Villefranche-sur-Saone and a number of Restaurants/ Bars/ Brasseries present themselves, much like any town in France, La Chapelle has a charming outer courtyard and a more modern interior (modern, maybe 80's decor.) The brasserie offers a number of menus that are good value - we went for the €19 and were not disappointed. Not haute cuisine but value when you need a quick bite.And wheelchair friendly!

What a great find! Delicious food and excellent service in the beautiful outdoor courtyard of a historic Italian house. The restaurant is run by a truly wonderful lady who is attentive and genial. The set menu options provide great value and the food is absolutely yummy!

Great place, superb acoustic. The very nice service serves delicious meals for a good price. It has a feel good atmosphere combined with love for cooking. Next time in Villefranche-sur-Saône I will definitely come back.
