My family and I had lunch today in la chipirona playa. We shared some starters, followed by mains. Food was good, tasty and well presented. Enjoyable. Place is pretty and the sea views and breeze are just lovely. Service was initially slow, and only got slower. As time passed, some waiters seemed to gradually loose interest in making their clients comfortable. When presented with my bill, I asked the waiter to correct it, wrongly charged with three desserts that should have been part of the fixed menu. Not only no apologies were presented, but actually rudely asked to pay one of them, since “it was not included”. I had to deal with an unpolite and unprofessional service, and eventually reach out to the manager that was finally quite helpful. The episode made us walk away sadly in bad spirit. It is a shame that all the efforts to offer good food in a great location are somehow ruined by the lack of capacity to offer a similarly great service. Maybe it is the sign of the times, but it make the experience unpleasant.
We visited in early June, it was relatively busy in the terrace at the back and the restaurant was nice and peaceful. We opted for the Squid Fry served with feta cheese crumbles and a smooth kimchee lime mayonnaise. WOW! 100% recommend this, so tasty! Also for starters we had the creamy cod fitter, which was also divine. For mains we all shared a paella, true Valencian style with snails, rabbit and chicken. Super tasty and also my first time trying snails which were great! Really nice restaurant with lovely staff.
I was with my boyfriend and despite the fact that we didn’t have a reservation and the restaurant was full, the manager Rita gave us a table, she was very kind and gentle!! Both her and our waitress Manel took good care of us, they were so attentive and sweet Also, the place is very nice, especially the internal garden, and the food was so so delicious: Everything was amazing, and we appreciated how they treated us with chupitos of limoncello at the end! We'll surely come back again!!
Unexpectedly good food, interesting taste associations. We came back again and again for lunch. Daily menu as well as a la carte very tasty. We ordered several dishes just to have a wider range of the offer, all was above expectations. Would definitely recommend if you ate in the area.
