La Citadelle - Tisch reservieren

I have been in a lot of restaurants around the world and certainly in this part of France (Languedoc, Hérault) that I love, the whole over the last 15 years. The experience at La Citadelle was a first for me! I never thought a French restaurant could score so low in: a) service quality; b) attitude; c) atmosphere! There were only 4 tables (9 people) for dinner yet we had to wait about 2 hours to get our food. My main course was cavalierly delivered along with the entrées for my 2 dinner partners (and this from a French restaurant??). Then after an unacceptable near hour wait, the two other main courses were finally delivered, minus the chips one had ordered! Seems our waitress was more preoccupied in chatting with one table then appropriately serving other tables! Worse, when notified of this unacceptable service, she actually challenged that it was our responsibility to mention these "details", like the 3 main courses being served at the same time! We cancelled the chips as by this time, our main course had been finished and the "attitude" was the last straw! At this stage, our only desire was to exit, never mind the desert! Food quality is average. This restaurant is really a pizza parlour judging by all the people coming for take-away pizza (and the speed with which my pizza was delivered with the entrées). The atmosphere is not welcoming: stale, insipid, uncaring decor, very poor lighting, a nauseating odour from the kitchen (they perhaps should invest all the high prices for a decent kitchen fan...).Service: HORRIBLE. What ignorance and arrogance for a so-called French restaurant! This restaurant does NOT deserve a rating! There are many excellent restaurants in Olonzac. Forget this one!

We reserved for three with Sandrine in the morning. Returning at 7.30, there were 2 other customers. Eventually, there were 4 tables with 9 customers. Service is extremely slow and we should have walked out at the beginning. The place totally lacks warmth and atmosphere. Bad lighting, no music, no flowers or decoration, totally lacking in atmosphere. BUT we stayed! 2 of us ordered the 22€ menu, one of us a pizza. The pizza arrived along with our first course, a very thoughtless action as that person had to sit and watch us eat our main course. The glib answer from Sandrine was that we should have told her! Is she experienced in the restaurant trade or not? The entrée was perfectly fine. We had to wait until 9.30 for our main course and the fries we ordered sat on a counter for a long time before she remembered to bring them at which point we no longer wanted cold fries. There was a third course with our €22 menu which I asked her to wrap up so we could take it home. I fail to understand Sandrine's math skill as there were 5 pieces of cheese with only one piece of a blue cheese which she went to great lengths to correct me about. It wasn't blue cheese, it was Roquefort. In my mind, 2 pieces of blue cheese would have been the answer for two €22 menus. All in all, a very poor, totally disorganised but laughable experience. Should you go there and get the feeling you should flee, follow your instinct! We will never darken that Citadelle again!

Un super restaurant avec des plats excellents, préparé a base de produits frais... Les pizzas sont tres bonnes aussi. A faire et refaire

Delicious gazpacho with fruits de mer and excellent pizza. They supply pizze to the whole town and beyond!

Très bon accueil. Le service est agréable de bons conseils de visite. Cuisine excellente À ne pas rater.
