La Couscoussiere d'Hocine

I lived in North Africa for a couple of years and became a fan of couscous. This is the real deal. It is hardly surprising as the charming Hocine is from Algeria. Very generous and copious portions, there is enough for two, or for one with plenty of leftovers! A guilty personal pleasure as my wife isn't keen on couscous, but a real treat for me.Only takeaway unfortunately. Good to order in advance.

Got a takeaway from here on holiday as I wanted to try this place based on the reviews. This place is a little gem compared to a lot of the very disappointing eateries locally. Good balance of spice, really nice depth of flavour without being over powering. Really good North African food, definitely worth trying.

We have been going to Hocine for years, always a treaty, always well received. The seed is fine and airy, the portions are generous, the tasty broth. If I had just a remark, it would concern the merguez who lack quality. But the quantity of quality ratio and the price are unbeatable! Have fun!
