Carros village is een mooi hoog gelegen dorpje boven Nice. Aan de voet van de middeleeuwse dorpskern ligt restaurant La Forge. Specialiteit: truffels. We aten er à la carte een uitstekende tweegangen lunch. Als hoofdgerecht Coquilles st Jacques met een genereuze hoeveelheid truffelplakjes in een mooie zachte saus met diverse groentes en boterige aardappelpuree. Als dessert resp. Aardbeiensoep en Crème brulée fleur d'oranger. Alles prachtig opgemaakt en perfect op smaak. Heel vriendelijke professionele bediening. We zaten heerlijk buiten op het terras. Op aanraden van de bediening een perfect halfje wit uit de regio Cassis. Al met al zeer de moeite (van een omweg) waard!
