La Locanda, Comptoir Italien

Visited La Locanda tired, hot hungry shortly after our flight arrived in Nimes. We got a nice table at the entrance in the air-conditioned interior. As a celiac vegetarian it is always difficult to eat, but I had contacted the restaurant in advance to preorder my gluten-free pizza. It was very soothing that on arrival, from the young waiter, I was told that my gluten-free pizza was all ready for me. I ordered the Bufala sans gluten and it was the most delicious gluten-free pizza I had so far. The rest of the family ordered various pizzas and my daughter was thrilled by the Calzone fritto. We had a nice waitress who served us. The restaurant had a lively, good mood about it, but despite its very busy we were not through our meal. It was the perfect start for our family holiday in France. Thanks to everyone at La Locanda Nimes that you welcome us and feed us to the south before our trip. We'll return to Nimes the next time.

Did takeaway here on a Friday night. Place was super busy. I came here around 9 in the evening and people still came in. Staff is running all over the place but do their best to explain things to you. Their pizzas are big and good (depending on your taste perhaps excellent). Their pizzas are Napoli style so very thin bottom. 4 stars because by the time I got my 2 pizzas they already cooled down! So by the time I was back in our place we had to put them in the oven. Home made tiramisu is fantastic though!

Great Italian food and the staff is very nice! You should definitely try the Calzone Fritto. I've eaten it once in Italy but never found it again on the menu in Belgium, France, The Netherlands. It was very nice eating it again!

I love their pizza! Great atmosphere and the staff is also really friendly. I will definitely go back to try the other Italian dishes next time I visit Nimes. 100% recommended
