I ordered a coffee and a croque monsieur. The coffee arrived in regulation time. I drank it slowly while reading a newspaper. I finished the coffee which by then was cool. I asked the waitstaff to check on the rest of my order and was told it was next in line. I need to observe that the cafe was not extremely busy. I realised I needed to leave for an appointment before the croque was served. I told the waitstaff I had to go and that a refund was expected. At that instant the order was delivered. I stated it was too late, was offered a takeaway - which I didn't want. I was refused a refund by the male manager and in the acrimonious exchange that followed I was told it was 'people like me' who were the problem. I tried to remind him I was the customer and he the service provider in a hospitality area but was given no opportunity to even speak without being spoken over. I left without the Croque Monsieur and without a refund. Needless to say, I will not return and am posting this to discourage other people supporting this establishment. Coffee OK, food don't know, manager's interpersonal skills abominable!
