We went here for lunch following a recommendation for a friend we all live in the local area but weren't familiar with this part of Antequera so thought we'd give it a try. Long story short, we couldn't have been more disappointed. We were ignored by the waiter for the first 10 minutes, and he was less than friendly when he finally deigned to take our order. We waited 20 minutes for the first plate to show up and then despite having ordered everything to come out at the same time we didn't see any more food for at least an hour. During this time the waiter failed to bring us (twice) the additional drinks we'd ordered. When two of the remaining three dishes finally turned up croqueetes and flamenquin filled with rabo de taro or bull's tail we were pretty sure that the flamenquin wasn't the one advertised on the menu, but my partner who was starving by this point started eating it anyway only to get two bites in and discover that the meat inside (which looked like a concoction of chicken and pork see photo beneath) was completely raw. The waiter seemed nonplussed when we complained. The following two dishes failed to turn up so we eventually gave up and left. We spent the evening on tenterhooks waiting to see if my partner would get sick from ingesting completely uncooked poultry (fortunately he didn't). A terrible experience and appallingly bad customer service: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Great authentic local bar. Great views of the church and mountains. The waiters are very friendly and run around all night. Good for a quick beer or wine and tapas. We stopped in here every day on the way back to our apartment. Get to know the locals. This bar is real Spain.
Best Lunch I have had in Malaga regios so far. Great service and very reasonable price. Must visit when in Antequera. We tried the black rice, carriladas and chorizo. The portions are huge, 2 1/2 rations can feed a family of 3.
We was there after Alcazaba visit. Tables at the intersection of two small streets at the 400-year-old church. Nice atmosphere, local specials and delicious food. We recommend this place like a full local experience.
