Greeted warmly by the owners, a husband & wife team, who ran the whole service of the restaurant, on their own that night! Amazing! And an open roaring fire & wooden beamed building - think it dates back to the 1400's! We knew when we booked that it was for a special set menu evening (apart from desserts) & the restaurant was a sell out! We were asked if we wanted an apperetif, we had a glass of Chablis each & were brought olives & a couple of other nibbles! Starter was charcuterie & pâté's with gherkins with fresh bread. We had a very nice red wine - sorry can't remember the whole name, but remember St. Julien in the title & it was a Bordeaux! Amazing 'legs' & 'halo' in the glass though. Suckling pig for main with sauté potatoes & an onion/mushroom/herb accompaniment. Local Normandy cheeses, followed by Normandy apple tart for dessert - there was a whole lust to choose from for desserts, but we decided to keep it traditional! We had a gorgeous Calevedis brandy & coffee to finish - & waddled back to our accommodation in the rain!! A wonderful evening, fabulous, historic restaurant & superb food!
