La Tivollière - Tisch reservieren

We booked our last dining experience in France, at La Tivolliere, before heading home and it was perfect. We had an early booking on the terrace, making the most of the wonderful view and adorable evening. The service was tentative and the meals were delicious. We chose the summer menu and added the extras, and we were very happy with our selection. The food was very well prepared and presented. We really enjoyed our meals and the wine selection, leaving feeling full. This restaurant is charming and am sure you will not be disappointed. I recommend to book and if the weather permits, enjoy the outdoors. We will definitely return when we are in the area. Something I am already looking forward too.

So on a whim we decided to go further afield than normal and tumbled onto this place as it had the same name as a local restaurant. So this was a 30 minute drive and well worth it. We took the 45 euro meal with wine, the fois gras with pear was amazing, the home cooked bread, the leek sprouts Etc. Etc. It was all very nice and the wine package included a glass from our favourite region and a Beaujolais blanc which we have never had before. A great experience, they lose a star as for our main we were well past half way through before the wine arrived, and although ok, they were not overly welcoming. However top marks for the decor and culinary experience.

The restaurant is ideally located in St. Marcellin, home of the famous French cheese, along the motorway from Switzerland or Savoie to the South of France (less the 5 minutes from the exit). It is in a charming castle, on a hill with a scenic view. We were impressed by the quality of the service and of the meals. Simply be aware that those are not only good but also copious! The fondue de St. Marcellin is a surprising alternative to traditional cheese at the end of the meal. The restaurant features a nice choice of wines.Don't forget to make a reservation to secure one of the calmer tables!

Lunch in La Tivolliere was a real high on a trip from South-France to Switzerland. The staff was very attentive and the meny (French local cuisine) had something for everybody.
