La Vieille Forge

We went there for dinner with our friends. The restaurant was in an okd building but the inside was quite modern. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who take care of iur every need promptly and with a broad smile. He was very proud of his restaurant and seemed very happy. The food was excellent. My friend ordered a fried escargot appetizer which was prepared wih leeks and young garlic, a real interesting melange of flavours and textures. My wife ordered the foie gras poele as her main course. It was very well prepared coated with sesame and nuts with interesting Japanese flavors. I ordered my steak with foie gras. Felt that the sauce was little overpowering in the salt and flavors, but still very good. The accompanying potatoes were very well prepared. The desserts were excellent. Very highly recommended!!!

I haven't ate in the restaurant for a long time, as on previous trips it was closed or fully booked.It is superb, and more than justifies the bib gourmand Michelin rating.The food is imaginative, and the cooking is excellent, as is the service. The restaurant is pretty and decorated in a relaxing style.There is a limited children's menu, which my rather fussy 3 and 6 year olds wouldn't eat. But they eat the bread and potato croquettes so it was fine. More adventurous children would enjoy the menu very much.For us, it is a must do when we are in the area.

On a célébré notre anniversaire de mariage et avons choisis une halte gastronomique et gourmande dans cet établissement qui nous avait été chaudement recommandé par des amis.Certes nous n'avons pas été déçus. Du début à la fin du diner, la partition était jouée parfaitement sous la toque du chef Remy et ses enfants.personnel disponible et chaleureux. Avec la Maîtresse de céans, Marie, nous avons eu d'excellent contact.En résumé, des vrais amoureux de la bonne cuisine et des gens amoureux du travail bien fait.

Nous souhaitions depuis longtemps,habitué de Kaysersberg,découvrir ce restaurant avec le menu de 78€.Belle décoration,service accueillant, vins alsaciens au verre variés et bon marché.La cuisine,bien que recherchée,peut encore être améliorée.Le foie gras poêlé et la gambas en tempura étaient de qualité.Mais le ris de veau bien sec et le carpaccio de Saint Jacques moyen.Rapport qualité prix très correct toutefois.

Nous avons apprécié l'accueil et les conseils pour le choix du vin . Le pinot gris était remarquable ainsi que l'apéritif maison. Le sorbet gentiane et poivron surprenant et savoureux. Nous avons passé un très agréable moment.
