L'annexe Bar Brasserie

L'annexe bar is situated at the top of the original shopping area in Cholet. For years we ignored it as we assumed it would be poor/touristy. But we were wrong! It is great. The staff are really attentive and as soon as you walk into the bistro you are given an option of where to sit (but be careful of sitting in the glass extension area when it is very sunny as it can get very hot: best to sit outside or in the dimmer interior). The midday menu is typical in offering a special combination price but the quality/freshness and presentation of food is great. The salads, play du jour and tartines are very popular and a good size. Everything is well seasoned and well balanced. Wine by the glass is of good quality and price (this place is probably basing its business on locals not tourists). For desserts we nearly always go for the "cafe gourmand:" an espresso coffee served along with a selection of small desserts. We are quite critical diners and would always chose to go hear at least twice a week when on holiday in France (probably every day if we lived/worked there)!.
