L'Auberge - Tisch reservieren

We eat here regularly and have yet to leave disappointed. The fixed price menu for week day lunch is amazing value at €13. There is no choice on the fixed menu but it consistently delivers on flavour and quantity. If you fancy something else there is always the à la carte menu. There is normally only one waiter/ waitress and mid week lunch is very busy so book a table or arrive at 12! They have an extra room upstairs for when they are full downstairs. This is the place to come if you want no nonsense good food at a good price. They are also child friendly and have one high chair. There is no child menu but they have always been great with us and will give you a bowl of veg if you are happy with that for babies. The fixed price menu at €25 is also very good value. I always get the foie gras which is a €2 supplement but is a very generous portion. The steak is also amazing. Duck can be dry at times but the honey sauce makes up for it.

Then please tell me the 5 that are better. We went on a Friday evening when the motor rally was in town so the restaurant was heaving. The single waitress did an incredible job in ensuring every table was served as quickly as possible and her smile never faded ! We had the foie gras , one in pastry with apple and one with figs. Followed by lamb and a veal kidney. All the food was really good.Will certainly go again.

This restaurant was recommended by a few locals but I was disappointed that it did not live up to expectations.
