L'auberge De La Durdent

I had the privilege of being taken to this special place by friends while visiting Normandy and the experience was absolutely memorable. We sat on the terrasse that was dappled with sunshine as the stream that is the Durdent meandered alongside. The staff were that ideal combination of having a sense of humour and being both relaxed and professional, allowing diners to choose drinks directly at the bar from what seemed to be a good choice. (Another diner went to the bar! Each course was as delicious as it beautifully presented. Our visit has stayed with us all for all the given reasons.

the room is almost austere with its exposed beams of light wood on white background, its sober furniture and a large open fireplace. and the outside – you have to go out and cross a small bridge to wash your hands – is of a pronounced bucolic charm. The kitchen is of very first class: from the attractive mouth, a perfectly tasty entrance, a dish of a very beautiful quality and dessert – hearty, also – almost spicy with small eye blinks. a great pleasure, this cuisine! in short, of quality. Bravo!

The restaurant is located on the Durdent river, next to an old fish farm, in the beautiful Durdent valley. The restaurant is divided in two areas, the less expensive bistro (limited menu) and the more expensive restaurant. We ate at the restaurant itself. Food was quite good, with plenty of choice. Service is quite cold and standoffish. The place also has rooms and a small spa.

We had a great dinner at the inn of the hard teeth. The frame is beautiful. the reception and service are very warm. dishes are of quality, served quickly. We'll be back!
